What a ZOO actually entails are largely animals. Currently, the key mission of a zoological garden is the restoration of endangered animal species. The Ústí ZOO contributes to that global effort, participating actively in international protectionist programmes. To list of just a few will definitely include: the Bornean orangutan, Amur leopard, Tomato frog, Southern white rhinoceros, White-lipped deer, or the Somali wild ass.
